PUNJABI COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTRE
Mandate To serve the Peel community through community development, culturally appropriate service delivery, partnership with other organizations, research and asset inventories, developing resources and volunteers from within the community, consulting and promoting diversity, and through community outreach.
Services SAHARA Punjabi Men’s Group Deals with excessive alcohol use and anger management problems. This 16-week program is not only compatible with the Partner Assault Response (PAR) but also deals with the issues of alcohol use.
SAHARA Punjabi Women’s Group An aftercare program that provides long-term support to abused women and children.
SAHARA Punjabi Youth Group A youth program that deals with issues of deviant behaviour, cultural conflict, and substance abuse.
SAHARA Punjabi Senior’s Group A senior’s program that deals with issues of senior abuse, inter-cultural and inter-generational issues.
Parenting Sessions are provided to parents at no charge.
Punjabi Food Bank For women and children surviving abusive situations.
Counselling Program (Healing Through Alternative Methods) Culturally appropriate counselling program for individuals, couples, and families.
